Learn how to work these beautiful wavy design elements into your knitting with teacher, designer and Knitchats Coach Amy Odin. Cable knitting is simply knitting stitches out of order to create panels that cross over each other or meander across your fabric. These panels typically stand out in relief to a stockinette or garter stitch background, which give cabled projects their remarkable appearance. For this class, you will practice by knitting a small flat swatch. Amy will show you how to work a simple four stitch rope cable forming both a right and left cross. She will also review a few cable needle options and show you how to use them. Also included are instructions for reading simple cables in charts.

Skills required: Must know how to cast on, knit and purl.
Supplies:
Worsted, aran or bulky weight yarn (enough for roughly a 4” x 5” sample)
Knitting needles sized appropriately for your yarn weight
Cable needle slightly smaller than your knitting needles
