Ocean Stones

I have always enjoyed Gretha Mensen's patterns, and when looking for a pattern to take on vacation, I turned to Ocean Stones. The shawl is worked from the tip to the edge and features large swaths of stockinette stitches punctuated by fun cable sections. I chose to knit Ocean Stones in Sea Change Fibers' Littoral DK so the cables would really pop. The pattern is easy to follow as Gretha has both charted and written instructions with stitch counts. I really enjoyed this project and am delighted with the finished piece. What a perfect project for a vacation at the shore!

needles: US 7 (4.5 mm) and US 6 (4.0 mm) 32-inch needles
