Soundtrack to Spring
Spring has a way of softening everything—the light, the pace of our days, and even our knitting. As the season shifts, I find myself reaching for a different kind of soundtrack to accompany my stitches.
While music will always have its place, I often find myself pairing my knitting with a good show or a favorite podcast. It’s the perfect way to settle in for an afternoon or unwind in the evening, letting the rhythm of the story carry along with the rhythm of my stitches.
Here’s what I’ve been enjoying lately:
📺 What I’m Watching
I’ve been especially drawn to shows that feel immersive and a little transportive—perfect companions for a knitting session.
- Scarpetta (Amazon Prime) — a compelling mystery with just the right amount of intrigue to keep you engaged while your hands stay busy
- The Forsytes (PBS) — full of love, drama, and beautiful storytelling
- Bookish (PBS) — charming and thoughtful, with a quiet pace that pairs so nicely with knitting
- The Count of Monte Cristo (PBS) — a classic tale of revenge and redemption, full of drama and sweeping storytelling
And of course, there are always a few favorites that I can’t miss—Survivor (Season 50!) and Top Chef are part of my regular rotation.
🎶 What I’m Listening To
When I do reach for music or a podcast, I tend to gravitate toward something familiar and easy to settle into.
- Daryl Hall & John Oates Radio (Spotify) — a perfect mix of nostalgic, feel-good tunes
- The Book Club (Spotify podcast) — so good, and wonderful for longer knitting sessions
🧶 Knitting + Storytelling
There’s something special about pairing knitting with a good story, whether it’s unfolding on the screen or through your headphones. It makes the time feel just a bit richer, the stitches a bit more meaningful, and the quiet moments of the day something to truly look forward to.

I just want to wish Corrine the very best for her family in their move and next chapter of their lives! She has helped me in private lessons, classes and answering questions. One time I brought in a sweater I was knitting for my granddaughter because my interchangeable needles came apart and all the stitches fell off the needles. I put through a lifeline as best I could and bagged it carefully to get to Monarch. Corinne was fantastic as she sat down at the table and quickly got all the stitches back on my needles, found the dropped stitches and got all stitches untwisted. I had been sick to my stomach walking in there but left with a big smile for the miracle she had just performed. I hope you can find a lovely yarn shop near your new home! Keep on knitting!
