Knit, Blog & Be Happy!
Erin: A Twist in My Knitting Journey

This week on the blog, we’re excited to feature a post from our teammate Erin. After decades of knitting, she discovered there are still “firsts” to be had. One of my favorite things about knitting is that there’s always something new to learn, no matter how long you’ve been at it. Next February will mark forty years (!!) since I first picked up needles as a student in Germany. After years of scarves, hats, socks, and baby gifts, I fell in love with the world of shawls. Lace, colorwork, cables, beads—the more challenging, the better! When I moved from long-term...
Stitching into Fall: Cozy Rituals for the Season

There’s something about autumn that makes us pause. The light softens, the leaves turn, and the pace of the season invites us to slow down. It’s a time of year filled with cozy comforts and small traditions, whether that means pulling out a favorite blanket project, lighting a pumpkin-scented candle, or savoring a slice of apple pie. From stationery to baked goods, decorating to travel, here’s how we're savoring the season. For Ann,...
Cast On Cozy: Our Fall Project Picks

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, our needles seem to hum with extra excitement. Fall is the season knitters wait for; when cozy textures, earthy tones, and layers come to life. To celebrate, we asked our Monarch Knitting team to share their current fall favorites. Ann is embracing fall layers with the Milano Vest, a modern piece that’s perfect for crisp days. She’s knitting hers in mYak Baby Camel, in the warm Copper Red colorway, a stunning match for autumn tones. “I love how versatile this vest will be - it’s going to layer beautifully over everything!”...
Transition Summer Knits into Fall

One of the best parts of knitting is how our handmade pieces can move with us from season to season. Summer is for light and breezy makes like tees, tanks, and shawlettes, but fall doesn’t mean packing them away. With just a bit of layering, those same knits can become the heart of cozy autumn outfits. We’ve been having fun styling our warm-weather projects for cooler days, and we’d love to share some of our favorite ideas with you. The Riptide Slipover by Jennifer Shiels Toland is proof that one knit can do it all. Wear it solo while the...
Caring for Your Hand Knit and Store-Bought Sweaters

Caring for your handknits and your cherished store-bought pieces helps them stay beautiful and last for years. Here are a few simple tips to keep your knitwear in top shape: 🫧 WASH - Always hand wash your garments using warm water and a mild soap. Fill a clean basin with lukewarm water. If you're washing something small, even a mixing bowl works. If you’re using a sink, make sure it’s free from any harsh cleaners or residue that could damage or bleach your knits. Or how about a Strucket? We now offer them in the shop. I just tried one–super...
