Spotlight on: Ito Yarns

We are so happy to welcome Ito Yarns to our shelves. This is a yarn line that calls to be combined. Texture and color come alive when you mix and match bases and tones. We are thrilled to welcome Sandy Barnes and Britt-Marie Brehmer this weekend show all of us the possibilites.

To start, we are introducing five bases to the shop: (all will be online staring next Monday)

Sensai: lace - 60% mohair and 40% silk (it is so like Shibui Silk Mohair)
Kinu: lace - 100% silk
So Kosho: DK - 90% merino and 10% cashmere
Kosho: lace - 90% merino and 10% cashmere
Karei: lace - 100% cashmere

So, what can we do with these beauties? Here are a few things you will see in the shop over the next few months.

Kiki by Britt-Marie Brehmer - When Britt-Marie visited this summer, I tried on this darling sweater and knew I had to have one in my wardrobe. It is great looking and so soft. I have already swatched for this darling pullover in a combination of So Kosho in Blackberry and Sensai in Prune. (The photo does not do the color justice!)

Cambito by Katrin Schneider - Can you image this over a pair of jeans? Knit with Kinu and Sensai; this is a perfect cozy weekend sweater!

Alive and Kicking by Melanie Berg - Here is another Kinu and Sensai combo. What a flattering and feminine design.

Osaka Scarf by Ito Design Team - This classically simple design is so versatile. I tend to take scarves like Osaka with me when I travel. Draped over a dress or blouse for a pop of color or wound around your neck for warmth, it is worth the space in your bag.

Fluffy Scarf by Arnhild Skatbedt - Ok, I am not going to lie; the knitting may seem daunting to many, brioche with increases using Sensai held double, but look at the result! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Shall we hold a knit along / class for this project?

Stay tuned, as I will do a part two in the next couple of weeks.

Ito makes me want to knit a swatch or two!
