While We Stitch Away - July 2020

The next installation of our "While We Stitch Away" re-cap is from July of 2020 and is filled with favorite summer recipes, outings, photography and more!

July 2nd - Some interesting creative articles we have read:

The Radical Quilting of Rosie Lee Thompson - My husband read this article and passed it along to me, he was fascinated by the story.

Take a 360 Video Tour of Ken Burns Quilt Collection - I cannot sew a lick but I am fascinated by quilts and enjoyed this short tour of a few pieces in Ken Burn's collection.

Quarantined Travel Photographer Creates Miniature "Outdoor" Scenes with Everyday Objects - We shared this on Facebook a few days ago and as I look back at it again, it just makes me smile!

The Secret to Deep Cleaning - I guess I need to put my knitting needles down, the New York Times is reminding me that, since I have been spending so much time at home, my house is due for a deep cleaning.

Food Pros on How They Named Their Sourdough Starter - For those of you who are keeping one of "America's Rising Pets" here is a cute article on naming your little bubbly friend sitting on the counter.

July 9th - We're cheering to summer with out favorite recipes

When you're craving pasta, but in need of something on the lighter side, Ina Garten's Summer Garden Pasta is the perfect dish!

For a refreshing treat, the Strawberry Berryoska cocktail is made with fresh fruits and lemonade.  Jenn fancies hers up with Rosemary vodka and a splash of ginger beer.  Yum!

Ann loves nothing more than the taste of peppery arugula and cool crisp watermelon! This Arugula, Watermelon and Feta salad is her fav.

Ann makes risotto once a week for Mr. Monarch and Tomato Risotto is one of his summer favorites.
