Cut My Knitting? - Steeking 101 - May 3rd

Do you love to knit fair isle but avoid knitting a cardigan because you are terrified of the notion of taking scissors to your knitting? Let's take the fear out of the process by tackling a steek together. Come in with a completed Simple Steek Mug Cozy, and you will be guided through the steeking process one step at a time. From a simple crochet stitch to secure your knitting, the cut, picking up the stitches and knitting the button bands so you can sew on your favorite buttons. Once you master this technique on a small item, you will be ready to tackle a fair isle sweater on your own.

Please come to class on time with the listed supplies and, if required, complete homework.

Materials:

• The Simple Steek Mug Cozy, free on Ravelry
• Brooklyn Tweed Shelter in three colors 
• size C/2.(75mm) crochet hook
  
• Tapestry needle
• 1 - ¾” (19mm) button
• sharp scissors
