Spotlight on: Curated Seasons 2025 - From the Monterey Peninsula with Love

It is that time of year!  Inspiration is at an all-time high, and we are ready to announce that our Curated Seasons 2025 is available for preorder. I am so excited about our subscription boxes this year because a couple of members of the Monarch team, Jenn, Catherine and Molly, are joining me in curating the content and have come up with some great suggestions for the box.  We want to keep the boxes fun and filled with quality items that make you want to Knit….and be happy!

The first suggestion was from Molly, who thought giving you all a choice about the yarn in the box would be a fantastic benefit. Yes, that is right, you get to choose. A few weeks before the current season's box arrives, we will contact you so you can choose between two colors (for the Valentine and fall box) or yarn weight (summer box). This allows you to tailor the Curated Seasons to your preference. Do not fear; there will be plenty of surprises left to discover!

Catherine suggested an excellent theme for 2025: "From the Monterey Peninsula with Love." Why not use our beautiful coast and the sites we love as an inspirational starting point? Talk about a wealth of possibilities!

  • Valentine's Day, Lover's Point – Lover's Point, the beach a few blocks from our shop, inspires the Winter/Valentine's Box. Everyone should get a Valentine, so why not one from your favorite LYS?
  • Summer on the Peninsula - from Sand to Fog – Let's face it, our summers here on the Peninsula are foggy affairs, but that does not mean we love them any less.
  • Fall: Big Sur Love —This curated box celebrates the natural beauty of Big Sur, including its stunning trees, coastline, and landscape.
  • Holiday Surprise – Festive Celebration – The word surprise is operative here!

The mantra for each product in the box will remain the same year to year. I always ask myself, would I want to receive and use this? Would I feel good about gifting it to another crafter or friend if I didn't like it? Whenever possible, I like to feature small businesses. I love the idea that you all will discover new products and makers. We can only carry so much in the brick-and-mortar shop, so the box allows me to curate things that do not fit into our regular inventory.

Unlike in previous years, we will offer a few boxes to be purchased individually. These will be slightly more expensive than those in the annual subscription, and you will not be able to choose yarns. So many people pop into the store looking for a gift or a little something special from the Peninsula, and we thought this would be a great way to spread some seasonal joy.

Thanks so much for supporting Monarch Knitting, your local yarn store. We adore creating special surprises for you!
